August 25th, awesome! Can’t wait, and thanks for the C++ simul-release (assuming it is).

"Delphi 2009 and C++Builder 2009 will be available on Aug. 25" - Is that U.S. only or U.K. as well. Does ‘available’ mean available to download or available via resellers?

    Jim McKeeth Says:

Wow, release dates and prices. That was unexpected.

    Sephane Wierzbicki Says:

    That’s a great news ( only 5 days to wait ;) )
Will Delphi 2009 and C++Builder 2009 be available worldwide ?

    David Heffernan Says:

$399 for pro and $1299 for enterprise. Presumably those are upgrade prices?

    JanisT Says:

    In year 2008 or 2009 ?
    :)

    Luigi D. Sandon Says:

Why it was published on eWeek but not on the CodeGear site?

  8. 8
    John Says:

I guess no upgrade prices. $399 for both new and old users.

    Michael Swindell Says:

btw, the 25th will be the announce date and day we begin taking orders, but shipping will liklely be later that week and will depend on when we go gold. We’re aiming to go gold next week, of the 25th, but we’re not shipping until it’s ready, so if it requires more days we’ll take them.

re pricing, yes they quoted the US upgrade pricing.

Please feel free to let DevExpress know that you are interested in Tiburon versions of their products.

I guess DevExpress knows it very well - probably they’ll release their components as soon as they are ready too.

And what about upgrade pricing for Delphi + C++Builder bundle?

We’ll be announcing pricing when we launch.

    David Heffernan Says:

If my experience of ExpressSpreadsheet is anything to go by then I wouldn’t count on Devexpresses stuff being ready on any version ever.

Of course it’s possible that the developers of their other components are more competent…..

    Anonymous Coward Says:

Its a pity. I was feeling happy for a moment until I discover $399 is upgrade price :(
By the way are you sure these prices are optimized for maximum profit ?

    Luigi D. Sandon Says:

@David Heffernan: we’ve been using DevExpress QuantumGrid and ExpressBars components for years and without them we would have left Delphi years ago. I can’t comment on the ExpressSpreadsheet because I never used it, but they release monthly fixes (something CodeGear could learn) and their support answers questions fast enough. I see their controls also used in some top Delphi applications, and that IMHO means they are not so bad.

    David Howes Says:

so the $399 is the upgrade price for C++ Builder and Delphi combined right?
