Nick -> No objections to CG making money, just glad that someone else did the heavy lifting this case. CG definitely can't afford to distract itself amoungst too many products at this point, let alone one that seems like such a fringe product (not saying there isn't a market, but I gotta figure the total number of people with AS/400s still around has got to be dimishing on a daily basis, and of those who might want to use Delphi for anything... well, like I say, glad a third party is doing the hard work on this one).

And ya, it does harken back to the days when Borland decided the customers who helped build the company weren't good enough to keep. I know CG is going in the other direction, it's just a little freaky to see a ghost from those days pop up again...

It's an attempt to provide valuable product to our customers that provide profits and revenue to us. I'm pretty sure that is why we are here. ;-)

ok, missed the previous post, which basically answers my question as "yes, its a bundle"...

Still, I'm a little shocked to find that there are enough AS/400 systems floating about to justify the bundle still.

I wonder how fast a virtual AS/400 system would be running on a desktop compared to the real thing...

The AS/400 stuff has a definite echo of Inprise feeling to it. Am I correct in understanding that the actual AS/400 specific code itself is actually a third party item making this more of a bundling deal rather than a mislead attempt to "integrate the enterprise" again?
