Random Thoughts on the Passing Scene #37

- I did a generics demo on the Delphi 45 Minutes last week, and I uploaded the code here on CodeCentral.
- John Moshakis has a nice blog post on using MSBuild and debugging Blackfish stored procedures.
- I spent twelve years in the military, and for some reason, the folks in the military — particularly the Air Force — really liked this "motivational" posters that "management" types seem to really adore and find useful. You know, the ones with a picture of two guys shaking hands with a big "Teamwork" with a pithy, vacuous statement underneath? Personally, I find them comical and ridiculous, but that is just me. Anyway, I think most of us know these posters, and most of us feel that they are silly, and so most of us will like these demotivational posters. When I was in Korea, someone actually put one of these up on the hallway wall — you can actually buy them at despair.com — and it took like three months for the Colonel to notice that it wasn’t, uhm, exactly the same as the ones he had put up.

Nick,
Were you USAF? What years were you in? (I was in from 1975 to 1980. Spent most of the time at Fairchild in Spokane, WA, and then Plattsburgh, NY.)

I was in the Navy, but was stationed at an Air Force base for three years, and in Korea for one year, where I had a lot of interaction with the Air Force and Army.
My colonel in Korea loved those silly "motivational" posters.
