Random Thoughts on the Passing Scene #36

- This seems like a pretty cool collection of libraries and code for .Net — Utilities.NET 1.0. Of course, you can access all of this in Delphi for .Net. Includes full source code, including the unit tests. I think it’s getting to the point where not including a full unit test suite with your library code in kind of gauche, don’t you?
- Our old colleague and friend Steve Trefethen has a new son — Congratulations to the Trefethens! Remember, Steve, it’s all Zone Defense from here on out.
- I signed up for DotNetKicks today. I think we should all make it a personal goal to get a Delphi story as the top story for a day or a week. What do you say? Let’s try to make this happen!
- Do you run or participate in a Delphi User Group? Make sure it’s on the Delphi Wiki’s User Group Page.
- RAD Studio has a new component for connecting to dbExpress data in ASP.NET: DBXDataSource. You can read up on it here.
- John Moshakis has a nice article on how to add JSON capability to your objects. Amazingly simple, really.
- Marco is thinking about publishing his book Essential Pascal on Lulu.com. Let’s encourage him to do so.

I kicked your article on DBXDataSource

October 5th, 2007 at 12:37 pmTo bad the Munich user group died last year. No one was coming anymore, I am just asking why…
October 6th, 2007 at 3:09 amSo when are you guys going to release your unit tests for the RTL and VCL?
October 6th, 2007 at 8:34 amHey Nick, Thanks! When I saw that there a was a technorati link to the blog entry about our new baby I was like huh? Who linked to that??
Anyway, Mom and baby are doing just fine and our first night with everyone under one roof was last night and it went surprisingly well. Hopefully, that bodes well for the future!
Thanks again,
