Spacely BetaBloggers

We continue to let you all know stuff about Delphi 2007 for Win32 — what we’ve been calling “Spacely” here in Codegear.
One thing we wanted to do was to get some of our field testers talking about what they’ve been doing with Spacely and how well it has been working for them. We believe that Delpih 2007 is a really solid release right out of the gate, so we wanted some of the folks that have been telling us as much to be able to tell you all about it. And they have been:
- Primoz Gabrijelcic likes the new Build system
- Holger Flick is excited about Vista support
- Marco Zehe is happy about the accessibility
- Andrew Raimodi is happy with a lot of stuff that folks want to be happy about
- Jacob Thurman is happy too
- Jeremy North likes the Glass effects
Overall, the field testers seem pleased with the speed and stability of Delph 2007. That’s music to my ears, as we’ve been very concentrated on those features. Hey, even the help is getting some kind words!

I really enjoy to "breath" again the Delphi "fresh spirit" and to feel all the excitement around it … like the good old days !
I regulary check the Delphi blogosphere (I suggest this agregator: http://www.delhifeeds.com/) several times daily just to find what’s new/hot into the Delphi arena.
10x Nick for keeping us around CodeGear/Delphi …
February 28th, 2007 at 2:17 pmIt’s good to see that CodeGear has decided to ease up on the NDA for Delphi 2007. Generating buzz and exchanging feedback among the Delphi community is so critical to the success of this release.
One thing I noticed about all the Tester’s blog links is the mention of "permission from CodeGear". It somewhat sounds a bit dictated.
Now then..how about publishing an updated roadmap on the CodeGear website…

February 28th, 2007 at 9:55 pmOne question about Delphi 2007: I assume it also includes a Delphi "translation" of the full Vista SDK, so you can use the new Vista features from Delphi? I am thinking about the new "Credential Provider" interfaces that are used for logon, or the new/expanded shell interfaces. Of course, I think this would have to be included to call the product "Vista compatible", but it isn’t mentioned explicitly on any of the sites I’ve seen so far…
