I agree the points are nice. I suppose I can understand some people being confused. Until I started using Delphi (about 2002) I thought all that Borland did was C++ . I also can't imagine the patients Nick must have being pestered about Highlander and not being able to discuss it.

Here's to 2007!
Doug

Nick,

Your points are understood clearly. That is why communication with customers around the clock is important. Speaking of important, it is good to hear that CodeGear is coming out with an updated roadmap later this month. For us developers, this is a big deal, as it allows us to forecast our development plans. My ideal roadmap would be something like Google maps where I can zoom in on specific dates. By having milestones, CodeGear is commiting themselves to execution. When you are able to execute, you are able to deliver what you promise. Success is all about execution.

IDL
Nick:

Thanks for the update.

One question. As the Delphi Product Manager, does the Delphi.NET and C# fall into your domain?

I know I'm in the vast minority but I do very little "classical" Delphi and mainly C# with some Delphi.NET using BDS2006.

Looking forward to CodeGear in 2007.

Dale Williams
