The Delphi Hour #4

31 Jul

The Delphi Hour this week will be on Wednesday, 02 August 2006 at 05:00pm (that’s 1700 for you military types).  We’re changing the time to be more friendly to you folks in the Asia/Pacific region.

I don’t have a guest lined up (want to volunteer?), but if all we do is chat and take questions, that would be fine, too.

Thanks for the time change, Nick. This puts it at noon for me, which means I’ll hopefully be able to catch this one live.

This will be 2am in the morning for me… still fine as long as I am a student :-)

Nick, why not use UT instead of all those local time zones ?

Much easier for the rest of us to calculate the local time when The Delphi Hour is ‘on

    the air’.

    Hi,

"(that’s 1700 for you military types)"

I could take offense on that. I am not a military type but I still prefer times given in a 24 hour format (which is common in most civilized countries ;-) )

    twm

ps: I doubt that you want me as guest. ;-)

    Soós Árpád Says:

    I agree with Thomas Mueller.

17:00 = military? Once you forget about the funny American date/datetime formats you realize that it is standard and more logical than the am/pm system.

    Olaf Monien Says:

that will be 20:00 for me - luckily :)

For Europeans 02:00 is pretty late though…

If this is #4 what happened to #3? Is there a .MP3 download somewhere?

    Serge Dosyukov Says:

I agree with many here: non-American’s standards of time, distance, temp are not Military ;o) They are normal everywhere, except US. Yes, I guess it is military in US, since only they know about outside world and probably realize that Texas is not the biggest country in the world (real answer by one of the student in the College)

    ;o)

Aside from that, thank you for the great effort with "Late Show with Nick" ;o)

Can I suggest this name for the Hour, it is late show now ;o)

Looking forward to #4. Is there a link to an archive of #3? I missed it live. Thanx!
