As I have been blogging this year about products that we have announced and shipped and about my travels and events, some of the readers of my blog who are C++ focused have asked and questioned about the future of C++Builder. On Monday of this week, we announced the next version of C++Builder, C++Builder 2007 for Win32. Responding to our C++ customers and C++ developers everywhere, this announcement focuses on what C++ developers care most, native code C++ development.
Key features and capabilities provided by C++Builder include:
- Seamless support for Microsoft Windows Vista Aero, Vista Desktop and Vista APIs
- Increased ANSI C++ conformance and compatibility including Boost and Dinkumware C++ library support
- New C++ build flexibility and custom configurations powered by the Microsoft MSBuild engine
- Up to 5 times in-IDE build performance improvements over prior versions
- UML C++ source code visualization
- Integrated C++ unit testing
- New DBX 4 RAD data access with support for the latest versions of popular RDBMs including CodeGear InterBase®, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL®, Oracle®, IBM® DB2, and Sybase®
- C++ IDE enhancements including virtual folders and enhanced C++ structure pane
- New INDY 10 Internet Protocol component suite
Stay tuned to CDN for videos and articles in the weeks to come. C++ is alive and well at CodeGear, thank you very much.

Great news. I’d be most interested to see how this version compares to the poor 2006 version, and if we’re in any way compensated for this.
you forgot to mention, that C++Builder 2007 also includes Ajax support through "The Vcl for the Web aka IntraWeb"
In June I’ll be presenting C++ Builder 2007 on the DevTracks road show in Hamburg, Bochum and Basel. (Germany + Switzerland)

GREAT NEWS!!!
Fantastic! Great to see that work is being done on C++.
so how many thousands is a paid for version going to cost this time, how big is the mortgage, or how much chasing the willo the wisp across 4 continents to get the "personal" edition going to take?
Seriously David, you can announce the next big new shiny box of tricks but it is often still out of reach for some people, M$ do their Visual Studio Express for nothing, no running after cover CDs or opening second mortgages.
I really need to use C++ builder 2007 as well, is the pricing going to accomodate small business users this time? with a version we can use? and afford?
