CodeRage Day 5 (+1) - the day after and Happy Saint Patrick’s Day

For CodeRagers who are having some problems ordering their products using the discount codes with our shop sites and resellers:

"We are aware of the CodeRage Discount Code issues that were experienced yesterday in the following countries: UK/Ireland, Nordic, France, Spain, and Italy. The Digital River ordering sites for the aforementioned countries is still not working with any new codes today. I did not send out a third discount code to attendees for these regions for this very reason. Please bear with us as we untangle this situation and have a chance to reply to the hundreds of emails we’re receiving on this subject. Thank you for your patience. –Christine"

For the few CodeRagers or community members who have labeled Christine as "very unprofessional", I can only tell you that Christine is the Senior Manager of Developer Relations responsible for the conference agenda, the conference web site, the speaker management, and the conference content. Other CodeGeareans are responsible for the special offers, the shop sites, and our resellers. Christine is just the messenger. Speakers, luminaries, partners, and members of our community who personally know Christine and the work she has been doing to help our community over the past 19+ years, will tell the few misguided souls, who try to put a negative label on Christine, how wrong they are.

That said, all CodeGear employees are responsible to proving, through our actions (and not words), what we are made of and show that we deserve your business. The huge turn out at CodeRage 2007 has been both a surprise and a satisfaction. Thank you, everyone, for being a part of it. Thank you to the speakers (both community and employee), and thank you to the CodeGear Technology Partners for helping in this first ever online virtual conference.  If you still need help with ordering, have a question, an issue, a problem, a suggestion, or just want to send me an email, please send an email to David I.

After a short weekend off, I will post a more complete recap of last week’s results. In the mean time, we will honor all orders from CodeRage attendees. The archived presentations are available for download by everyone who attended and all community members. The speaker evaluation form web application is online for everyone to give feedback to our presenters. The CodeRage conference evaluation form is online so that you can help us improve everyhing about this v1.0 online conference.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Please let me state this publicly:

WHOEVER says that Christine is "unprofessional" clearly has NO idea what he/she’s talking about.

I must admit that I am/was one of those souls…

I did not see that sentence from Christine or that would have radically changed my mind about her and might have helped in cutting her some slack.

Glad to see you guys trying to follow your motto and sorting things out.

I sent two emails to Christine, and received replies to both very promptly. Under the circumstances, that’s quite incredible.

Also, the "triage" approach of extending the discount period on those shops will be very welcome.

Well, as promised by DavidI and Michael, I got contacted yesterday (Monday) and placed my order yesterday. Shame the "ESD" delivery process is not so "instant" around here.

But I hope that later today I’ll be "up and running". Meanwhile, I’ve decided to start a blog of my own to report my experiences with Delphi…

Just a note for those still reading this and having trouble with local ESD purchases: check my blog (click the name in the comment) for a "possible" way to make your purchase. It may be worth giving it a try…

    Later,

    Madruga
