The other book I would recommend in this area is Enterprise SOA by Krafzig, Banke, and Slama http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0131465759/103-8292338-0513426?v=glance&n=283155&v=glance
It describes SOA in terms of logical layers and the way those layers interact to build new applications by reusing services. The ideas are fundamental to SOA, but their approach is helpful.
