In early March, I gave a presentation at the first (it its kind) Evans Data Corporation Developer Relations Programs Conference in San Jose. During the two day conference, several of the presenters mentioned statistics from their own research and from a recent Evans Data developer survey.
Do you fit the profile or are you outside the average?

I’m not sure why I took this survey, though, except that nobody else had posted a reply yet!
If you and me are de 26%…
there are only 7,7… so 5 men and, perhaps, a little girl around still missing.
But… that little girl does not match with the 40 years poll result.
So.. Someone cheats the polls…
I am male, but under 40. I would hope that a 40 year old would have at least 15 years of experience. I am 31 and have at least that much.
I suspect that blog statistic is higher this year since 65% keep up with current trends and Blogs are a much larger cuttent trend this year, as well as a great way to stay in touch with peers and self-train.

There you go!
Andrew
Jim McKeeth talked about being 31 and having at least 15 years experience. I (probably foolishly) assumed we were talking about *paid* experience. I’m 48 and have been programming since I was 16, which means I have, uh, 48 minus 16 is, uh… I’ve been programming since before a 31-year-old was born. <sigh> CRAP I’M GETTING OLD! <g>
Why giv us all these mumbo jumbo statistics. Waht has Borland developer relations doing for delphi developer lately?
