Computers in our shoes?

Back in May, Adidas announced it’s first intelligent shoe, called the “1”.  According to Adidas the shoe uses a microprocessor to provide intelligent cushioning by adjusting itself.  You can read the press announcement at http://www.adidas-salomon.com/en/news/archive/2004/2004_05_10.asp.
