Today is the 19th anniversary of the day I started at Borland. I am so happy to be here for the same reasons (and more) that first brought me here - 1) to be a part of improving the process of programming, 2) to build cool solutions for developers, 3) to enrich the lives of programmers, 4) to have fun, and 5) to make a contribution to the world of development.
Sure I could work at just about any other software company and significantly add to their value (and mine) and help them be successful. Working at Borland allows me to help millions of developers around the world and also help Borland at the same time. That is one of the unique things that we do here. The engineers listen to your requirements, pains, needs, fears, and opportunities and turn them into solutions for you. Keep using Quality Central (QC) on CDN to report problems and make suggestions. QC is your community collaboration tool to help guide us.
The tale of the David I tape:
Number of days since I started programming - 12,696
Number of minutes as a computer scientist - 18,282,240
Number of days since becoming a Borlander - 6,940
Number of minutes working at Borland - 9,993,600
I know I’ve got at least 6-10 more years in me at the pace that I move forward to help our customers and our company. I’m thankful to be allowed to help as many developers as humanly possible, to improve my own development skills and knowledge, and to have fun at the same time. I’m the kid in the candy store, and thankfully, I still have most of my teeth. Let me know how we can continue to help you!

Wow! Only 4 days to 10,000,000 minutes!
Congratualtions…
Let’s count… I’m close to 20 years being hooked to Borland’s technology
So, you became a computer scientist as soon as you started programming did you - well done! - it took me around twelve years - started programming, B.Sc, M.Sc. Ph.D. - and even now (after a second Ph.D. is just completed), I’m still not sure that I would claim the title myself.

True work?
Congratulations. Next year you’ll be able to sing:
It was 20 years ago today, Phillipe Khan taught the band to play….
Congratulations.
Next year, you’ll probably organize a big happening for you 20 years as a Borlander !?
Congratulations.
I have just been pondering on how many products have came out of Borland during that time.
Turbo Pascal, Turbo Assembler, Turbo C, C Builder, Delphi 1 to 8, Quattro Pro, Paradox,
The list is quite endless.
Having used most of this software myself for about 20 years, I have grown to regard Borland as more of an old freind than just a software manufacturer.
So yes, for 19 years you have, working at Borland enhanced the working lives of many software developers.
Thanks
Congratulations …. !!!!!
When you start at Borland i was 12 years old, reading this blog ,i remember a friend of mine, that i sow like a genius because he worked with tasm and i didn’t see a computer before.
