Codegear should be trying for a real push in western europe at the moment. There is real concern about M$ dominance and a genuine desire to exploit alternatives.

I am from Russia. Delphi, often pirated, has always been very popular here. I am happy we finally can afford paying Borland this way or another. Just to make life more interesting, Russia is also implementing a pilot project aimed at replacement of Windows with Linux in schools.

That's great to hear.

I will be switching back from .NET to native (either Delphi or C++ Builder or both) this year also, I'm having too many weird issues with .NET, especially when using it in a mixed native/managed environment.

For the webstuff I'll switch to PHP (from ASP.net). Nothing beats 'nix in the server arena...

Good to hear that.
What about South East Asia, especially Thailand. Delphi is a right tool to start for students in university. I, also other Thai Delphi's fan, would like to see the Code Gear marketing plan to do more not just selling product. The majority of them are now using VB, C# and C++ in their courses. Delphi is now completely gone. No media or book support. Just only small group are using Delphi, include me, becuase of we love it and we think that it's only right tool to use. Not bloody slow VB VB.net or even C#.

Just a small note to point out a quick and probably wrong assumption: 1.000.000 licenses does *not* equal 1.000.000 students!

I'd guess that the student to computer ratio is a bit higher than 1:1. At the very least, don't forget that several different classes can use the same licenses as they won't all be having lessons at the same time... (I'm assuming a "per seat" type of license, but I think my assumption is fairer than yours!)
